Necessary Of Educational Qualification For Elected Representatives

In india there is political debate that – “should there be minimum educational qualification needed for politicians in our country (India)?” in most of the senior cities as well as local places many of the persons will be agree that YES, our political person should be educated and have some technical knowledge. They are ruling our country without any knowledge or skills even also many of them are not literate and then also they are checking to educated persons on every field on various ground. Is it good for a developing nation? I will never say Yes.

There is another question on behalf of same issue that in a situation where India is challenged to become a world’s No.1 in every sphere be its economic development, health, infrastructure, so why Education be in second. There have been still ongoing debates whether or not educational qualification should be mandatory for politicians contesting elections.

In December 2014, the government of Rajasthan passed an ordinance making certain educational qualifications a necessary pre- requisite for contesting panchayat elections in the state. The ordinance was passed merely days before the elections were scheduled. In this challenges to the ordinance constitutionality before the Rajasthan High Court met with no success. The elections went ahead under the new rules, and issues are still pending before the Rajasthan High Court and Supreme court.

In India there has brought up of NOTA means “None Of The Above” option which is used by voters during any elections to officially register a vote of rejection for all the candidates who have nominated for the election because our elective representatives are not educated also even not literate, In Madhya Pradesh Polls, NOTA gets more votes than winners in 22 seats of their. According to 2018 Madhya Pradesh election data, the 542295 voters pressed the button of NOTA on EVMs, which was 1.4% of the total number of votes cast. In the Assembly election in Gujarat there were 21 seats in which the votes polled by NOTA were more than the margin between the first two candidates. Of these, there were 12 seats where the BJP’s margin of defeat was less than NOTA. India entered the NOTA age as it there were in 2013, after the supreme court’s judgement in which it was directed to the election commission of India to add the NOTA button to the EVMs. Since then, NOTA has come into vague in elections in the country, but its impact was significant in Gujarat 2017 and Madhya Pradesh 2018. As per the recent news from a newspaper of 24th may 2019, that the lakhs of voters opted for NOTA button during the seventh phase Lok sabha in Bihar. Sources at the state election office said that 499957 voters has pressed the button of NOTA.

In India there is more and more riots are continuously going on due to these illiterate and uneducated ministers, where people also elect through voting based on CASTES, MONEY, & RELIGIOUS, a person who is properly educated can judge the whole scenario and can judge the minister’s potential. A well-educated man is considered as the resource for the development of the country. And if any leader of the any nation is an illiterate leader would have no thinking, realizing, amplifying, and implementing ability, which they need to uphold. It is now normal and general that Ministers are misusing their powers and in spit of thinking for development they will get themselves involved in criminal activities. They are continuously part of corruption. There are various jobs which have their minimum qualifications like Intermediate or Graduated or masters but their is no any tendency or system for minimum qualifications for politicians.

In my point of view we all Indians have to literate and educate, if every person occupying any posts by their minimum qualifications then why not for politicians, they are inventing many schemes or campaigns related to education systems like BETI BACHAO BETI PADHO Yojana, DIGITAL INDIA even they also don’t know of this Digital India, don’t know also about any technical things, then also they are inventing these things.
Let examine the reality and live example of India about educated minister and non- educated ministers, Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi state of AAP Party who is ex IRS Officer in India and another side other ministers, National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal addressed the gathering, setting the agenda for the party organisation and he said “The people of Delhi have given us the responsibility to govern the city and we will continue doing that with compete honesty and sincerity. The difficulties being faced by people of other states are not faced here, and we want to ensure people that those difficulties will never arise in Delhi. On the other hand, the children of Uttar Pradesh are dying because of lack of oxygen supply, and on the other, the people of Delhi have access to quality healthfatre for free. And most of the recent case the children of Bihar are dying because of chamki Bukhar in Muzaffarpur and finally ministers blame to their family and also some time other excuses like Litchi fruit, just like uncircumstantial evidence because they are not educated if educated then not well educated. From my point of view, those who are going for ministers they must have to qualify UPSC because those who have qualified this they are controlling a district and ministers are governing a whole state or a nation.
