A non-bailable warrant was issued against Republican TV editor Arnab Goswami and three other journalists in Srinagar’s Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Saturday. People’s Democratic Party leader Nayeem Akhtar has filed the case.

According to the scroll, the news channel complains of “misleading” content against him. He filed a lawsuit against Akhtar’s plea for pleading guilty to Article 499 of the Indian Penal Code and section 500.

According to the Kashmir news service report, on December 27, the court ordered Goswami, the special Srinagar correspondent of the channel Jayshan Fazil, senior associate editor Aditya Raj Kaul and the conductor Sakal Bhat.

But Goswami, Kaul and Bhat Pulwama could not answer the Saturday’s summit due to the situation in Kashmir valley after the terror attacks. Irshad Ahmad, counsel for the advocates, said. But he said Fazil could not appear before the court due to his personal and professional reasons. The Chief Judicial Magistrate, rejecting the application for the personal discount, said the accused would have to appear before the court and submit the confirmed bonds.

Goswami and three others accused issued a non-guaranteed warrant against the accused and ordered the court to present senior police superintendents to appear before the court on March 24.
