Who Is More Powerful Lawyer Or Police?

Every person may have their own ideas, but we all have to understand that each side has its own spheres of influence, and, at times, it is not really appropriate to ask who has more power – mom or dad, professors or parents, tutors or a professional custom writing company, like AdvancedWriters- resume writing services are their fate.

People often start comparing between lawyers and police that who is more powerful a lawyer or a police officer. Both of them have great importance in society. Police officers act or perform their powers and duties vested by law in order to ensure the law and order within the local for the safety of people. While a lawyer is the one who studies law and has the permission by the Bar Council of India (BCI) to appear before a Court of law on behalf of an accused to defend him.

It will be idiocy to compare between an ordinary police officer to a senior advocate of High Court or Supreme Court, nor you can compare with a Police Commissioner or DGP with a lawyer who is practicing in a District Courts. In this article, I will try to compare only between an ordinary police officer with an ordinary lawyer.

It will look like a chicken egg problem if you try to determine who is more powerful, police are powerful in the local area of a particular police station but when you talk about the Court, lawyers enjoy much more power inside the Court because they know the law better.

If you ask a layman that who is more powerful a lawyer or police officer, no doubt the answer will be the police officer. A police officer is a king within his local area in the eye of a layman. Police enjoy powers to investigate, make an inquiry or even arrest a person without having a warrant (cognizable cases).

Laymen don’t think lawyers are more powerful than police but I have seen many police officers who fright the lawyers, they fear to have talked with lawyers. Do you know why? Because lawyers know the law better as compare to police officers. Police fear to do anything illegal in front of a lawyer.

Lawyers only have the power is their outstanding knowledge of the law, they use their knowledge of the law as a weapon and stands before the Court of law to defend and save their client.

Where the role of police in a case ends after submitting charge sheet, from there the lawyer’s steps and start doing their business.

Lawyers have no power outside the Court nor they enjoy the right to get salary and perks from the state in comparison to the police.
